East Glos Club tennis juniors Seth Price and Aaron Osmond qualify for Road to Wimbledon finals

East Glos tennis juniors Seth Price and Aaron Osmond have qualified for the Road to Wimbledon National Finals to be held on the grass courts at Wimbledon between 10th to 15th August. Fellow Gloucestershire player James Holden has also qualified.

HSBC Road to Wimbledon is the biggest junior tournament in British tennis and gives all 14 and under players the opportunity to progress through to compete on the world famous Wimbledon grass courts.

All three players recently competed at the Regional South West Finals held at East Glos Club on the grass courts during the weekend of the 20th & 21st June.

32 boys competed for four places with three of the four boys places were taken by Seth, Aaron and James, playing against very strong players from Avon, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Devon, Cornwell and Somerset.

Seth and Aaron, both aged 14, train at Cheltenham-based East Glos Club under the guidance of coaches Mark Lunn and Steve Worsley.

A home advantage and practising on the East Glos grass courts helped both players in their preparations for the regional finals, and will do for the national finals

East Glos Head Coach, Mark Lunn said, “This is a fantastic achievement for both boys which is well deserved with the effort and commitment they both put into their tennis training and competing”.

The girls competition saw 16 girls competing for two places with two Gloucestershire girls, Isabella Nunez and Charlotte Russell being beaten in the play offs.
