East Glos Open Day is huge success

The annual East Glos Open Day took place last Saturday with over 500 people attending during the four hour event.

The event formed part of the LTA’s nationwide Great British Tennis Weekend. We were delighted to welcome newly elected Cheltenham MP, Alex Chalk and newly inaugurated Cheltenham Mayor, Duncan Smith.  Scroll down to see video interviews.

As a result of an increased marketing effort this year we signed up 60 new members comprising 39 adults, 6 families and 15 juniors. The marketing programme included a targeted leaflet drop to 5,000 homes, significant promotion via SoGlos.com along with increased press and social media coverage.

Activities taking place on the day included lots of activities for children, Battle the Ball Machine, a Fastest Serve Competition along with cardio tennis, a hockey demonstration and an exhibition match with squash pros Nathan Lake and Fiona Geaves.

Club Manager, Darren Morris says “I would like to thank all volunteers, staff and coaches on a fantastic day where everyone had lots of fun.  The day couldn’t have gone so well without your support.  I would also like to welcome all new members who have now joined us and hope you enjoy yourselves at the club”.
