East Glos squash junior Jack Bloomfield wins Canadian title

East Glos squash junior Jack Bloomfield has won the U13 event at the 2015 Dunlop Canadian Junior Open.

He beat Jose Alfredo Mijares Carro of Mexico 18-16, 11-8, 6-11, 11-7. View results >

293 competitors from 18 countries spanning five continents converged at the White Oaks Resort in Niagara on the Lake from December 12th – 15th. The event featured age categories U13 to U19.

This was Jack’s second international tournament, having competed in the Swiss Junior open last year, when he was runner-up.

After the Canadian event, Jack went to New Haven, Connecticut to compete in the U.S. Junior Open where he reached the semi-final, beating the American number two seed in the quarter final. He finally lost to an Egyptian seed, 3-1 in the semi final.
