East Glos wins silver-gilt award in Cheltenham in Bloom

It was decided on a whim, this year, to enter East Glos in the Cheltenham in Bloom competition, with a view to planning something a bit more spectacular next year.

Club member Concetta Knee takes up the story:

“Angela Fraser and I look after the pots and grounds staff Stuart Dominey and Paul Dean are responsible for the hanging baskets and the rest of the grounds.

“Club Manager Darren Morris asked Angela and me to represent the club at the prize-giving evening when, to our surprise and delight we won a Silver-Gilt Award.

“Sadly this will be our one and only award as Cheltenham in Bloom, in its current form, is being disbanded next year after 25 years. At least we go out on a high.

“We would like to thank everyone who tirelessly joined the watering rota this summer and I think everyone will appreciate how lovely the patio and pots look when they are attended regularly.”
