Former East Glos member Jamie Crowson steals the show during Wimbledon Invitation Doubles

In the second fortnight of Wimbledon 2019, former long-standing East Glos member Jamie Crowson featured in this Wimbledon clip.

As the match umpire, he ended up taking part briefly in a men’s invitational doubles match between Jacco Eltingh & Paul Haarhuis and Henri Leconte & Patrick McEnroe.

Henri Leconte and Patrick McEnroe decided to spice up their opening round match with Jacco Eltingh and Paul Haarhuis by inviting Jamie to take part.

With the score locked at deuce at 5-5 in the second set, Leconte decided to offer his racket to the umpire and take his place in the chair.

Jamie, 37, has been on the officiating circuit for over a decade and played at East Glos for many years, initially as a junior.
