East Glos member Rose D’Sa has been selected to play for Wales in the Four Nations Seniors Tennis International in Dublin in May this year.
The Four Nations is a bi-annual event comprising age groups over 55, over 60, and over 65, from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
Rose says “I am now just old enough to qualify for the over 60s but, it is the sixth time I have represented Wales at this standard.
“I joined East Glos in April 2016 because I consider it to be a centre of excellence for tennis, and travel regularly from my home in South Wales, to be part of, and to enjoy its convivial atmosphere and the passion of its members for the game. I also play in various league teams for the club.”
Rose comments that fellow club member on the seniors circuit, Felicity Thomas, is in an older age group and more likely to be selected for much higher level competitions for Great Britain instead. Rose says “Felicity’s presence as a club member was one of the reasons I joined since she symbolises such a high level of achievement for older players like me to aspire to”.
