Gill Green Fun Tournament to raise funds for local cancer charity
Gill Green was a much loved tennis member who passed away last November. The Gill Green Fun Tournament will be held in her memory on Friday 16th June at 10.30 a.m. This will be followed by a lunch and raffle.
Look out for the signup sheet on the board in May giving more details. Tennis places are limited but all are welcome to the lunch. You will have to sign up in pairs for the round robin format either for ladies or mixed doubles.
Tickets for the raffle will be on sale at reception in the clubhouse at £2 a ticket and are sold in books of five so please buy generously as the proceeds are going to a very good local cause and there are many wonderful prizes to be won.
The proceeds from the raffle will go to the Focus Research Centre in the Oncology Department at Cheltenham General Hospital. Gill benefited greatly from the work they do there which provides local people the chance to take part in national and international clinical trials. The centre is now very underfunded and we’re sure that Gill would have wished for the funds we raise to benefit the Focus Research Centre. If you would like to make a one-off donation there are donation boxes in the clubhouse.
