Junior squash courses for everyone

Junior camps

Whether you want to get into squash or improve your skills we have a wide choice of courses for all ages and abilities.

We run a year-round programme, and there are clear pathways for children to develop and progress at their own rate.

There are also competitive opportunities for children aged two to 15+.

Our courses are open to everyone, not just club members. If you don’t have a racket, no problem, you can borrow one of ours.

Junior squash

Tots, primary and secondary school beginners

The perfect introduction to squash for children up to 18 years old.

Our beginners courses use a more bouncy ball and rackets that are more suitable for the learner as they begin to understand the basics of how to play squash.

Children are split into three different age groups, so new players coming into the course feel comfortable and familiar with similarly aged players.

Tots Squash: 2 to 5 years

Developing physical motor skills to help with coordination and movement.

Primary School Beginners: 5 to 11 years

A development group aimed at helping children develop social skills. They’ll also develop their cognitive and physical attributes which will set the base levels required to move on up to the talent development sessions when they are ready.

Mixed Ability Junior Coaching : 11 to 18 years

A development group to help players develop their social skills across a range of ages which will ultimately influence others they are on court with. The aim of these sessions is to develop players’ basic understanding of how to effectively problem solve and self-regulate efficient learning. That will support their development and moving up to the Talent Development sessions.

Talent squash

Talent development: 8 to 18 years old

Sessions are by invitation only. Players from the beginner groups will need to:

  • Demonstrate positive role modelling characteristics
  • A sense of confidence that matches their ability to play a required standard of squash
  • Understand what their intentions are while trying to play

Players are supported and mentored by the coaches and peers. Self-referenced learning is placed at the forefront of their development.

Sport performances will develop over time once players develop a rich understanding of what they’re trying to achieve.

Our coaching team creates motivational environments. These will allow them to strive to a level where their aspirations are always in reach once they understand the commitment required and are willing to take those steps.

Tournament trips

For our talent development players, we regularly arrange group away trips to local England Squash junior tournaments. We go as a collective to keep the fun alive during tournament play. It’s an excellent way to experience performance environments, meaning the group can then support and share what they learn as they play competitive squash.

Junior squash camps

Holiday squash camps: 5 to 18 years old

The aim of our sessions is to be as inclusive as possible where players focus their attention on the collective progression of the group. Players of all standards are encouraged to support their peers’ needs in a fun and sociable environment.

Integrated social squash

Integrated social squash: 8 to 18 years old

These sessions, which always have a coach present, enable juniors to become more involved with the adult members and develop lasting relationships within the club more fluidly.
