Junior tennis courses for everyone
Get into tennis or improve your skills. There are courses for children of all ages and standards.
We run a year-round programme, and there are clear pathways for children to develop and progress at their own rate.
There are also competitive opportunities for children aged three to 15+.
Our courses are open to everyone, not just club members. If you don’t have a racket, no problem, you can borrow one of ours.

Mini Tennis: The perfect introduction to tennis for children up to ten years old
Use the power of sport to help your children develop in an inclusive and structured environment, where they can learn and grow through Mini Tennis, incorporating the LTA Youth Programme.
Mini Tennis uses smaller courts and equipment, combined with lower-bouncing balls. These help young people to get to grips with the game and develop a love for the sport.
3-4 years: Learn the basics.
4-6 years: Learn the basics; improve balance, agility and co-ordination.
6-8 years: Serve, rally and score.
8-9 years: Develop a rounded game.
9-10 years: Put your skills to the test.
Junior courses: 11 to 14 years old
Junior Beginners
For juniors who are just starting out or have had little experience. The focus is on teaching the basics in a fun, social and rewarding environment. Don’t worry if you don’t have a racket – we’ll lend you one.
Junior improvers
For intermediate level juniors who can serve, rally and score to a basic level and want to improve their match play skills. More of a focus on competition to help players to progress and take their games to the next level.
Junior Match Players
For more advanced players who have developed good basic technique and tactical awareness. Players are encouraged to compete internally and externally and should have an LTA rating. Players are taught in a more competitive environment with a greater emphasis put on match play.
Teen courses: 15 to 18 years old
Classes are split into ability level and cater for players whether they want to play socially or more competitively.
Teen Improvers
Classes for players who want to learn the basics and play more socially. Themes will cover basic techniques, tactics and court positioning to enable players to enjoy playing all game formats.
Teen Match Players
These classes are more advanced players looking for a more challenging environment. There’s a significant focus on match play and more advanced teaching to enable players to enjoy the more competitive side of the game.
Junior holiday tennis camps
Ages 3 to 8 and 9 to 16.
There’s lots of fun, teaching and games. The camps run across five days during school holidays. You can book the whole week or individual days.
Everyone is welcome.
