Recalling the huge potential of a seven-year old Emma Raducanu
In 2010 our tennis manager Steve Worsley was working as a talent and performance coordinator for the LTA in the southeast region.
The young lady pictured below in the front row, second left, is, of course, Emma Raducanu. Steve is at the back, first left.
Steve recalls, “She was a great kid. She was very driven, athletic, humble and always listened to the advice she was given. You never had to get on her case to work harder, and it was clear even back then that she had huge potential.
“It’s hard to comprehend the magnitude of what she has achieved. With the right support and management around her, she looks set for a great future in tennis, as is the case for her final opponent Leylah Fernandez.”
