Courses summary

Doubles positioning and tactics

Where is the best baseline position and why? Where do you stand when at the net – are you too close or too far away? What is your job when you are at the baseline or at the net? Improving your positioning and understanding of tactical basics is the quickest way to improve your doubles results.

Standard: Social, ladder, lower team.

Groundstroke consistency

We can’t guarantee to turn you instantly into Djokovic or Kerber, but maybe with a few new ideas on how and where to hit your groundstrokes you can reduce those annoying errors. Sometimes a reduction of just a few percent can turn a losing set into a winning set.

Standard: Social, ladder, team.

Smash and high volley

If only I’d made that ‘easy’ putaway on the set point we’d have won that match! How often have you put that sucker ball into the net or onto the back fence? It may be that your shot selection is wrong rather than your technique. This class aims to help you avoid those confidence-sapping errors by looking at both the selection and the relevant techniques.

Standard: Social, ladder, team.

Backhand workshop

Most club players worry about their backhands but you can improve the consistency and quality without major surgery. This class aims to help players make the best of what they’ve got and also offer some pointers to long-term improvements.

Standard: Social, ladder, team.

Volley clinic

A detailed look at volley technique. The class will take you through a series of progressive exercises to help you understand the techniques that make the volley work. Class will include understanding and application of the doubles interception volley but would also be applicable to singles players.

Standard: Social, ladder, team.

Simply serving

There are many misconceptions floating around about the serve and this class aims to cut to the essentials regarding grip and technique. It is not necessary to completely remodel your serve in order to improve it. There are fixes you can do immediately and others that may take a little longer but it could make a big difference to your game if you can improve you first and second serves by just a few percent.

Standard: Social, ladder, team.
