- You don’t have to take a playing in test before joining.
- You don’t have to wear all whites.
- You don’t have to be a good player to join East Glos.
- You don’t have to be proposed and seconded by an existing member.
- You don’t have to join East Glos to have coaching – individual coaching and courses are open to non members.
Lots of different options to help get you started.
All new adult members get a free 45-minute coaching session with a tennis or squash coach when you join the club + free tube of Head tennis balls or two squash balls.
Beginners – A great place to start is our professional coaching sessions with our team of coaches. Why not try group or individual coaching?
Rusty Returners – Why not try one of our six social tennis sessions every week. Or you could enter one of our many ladders – it’s a good way to meet other members as you climb to the top.
Experienced players – There are seven singles and doubles ladders, men, ladies and mixed. And of course there’s league tennis and inter county matches. Team tennis is a well supported and important area of club life and we are active in the Summer and Winter Gloucestershire Leagues, Aegon Team Tennis (both the ladies and men compete at Regional level) and GB Seniors Inter Club.

Four different surfaces to suit all types of game. Which is your favourite?
There are 28 tennis courts at East Glos, across four different surfaces. 17 of the courts are floodlit and all weather, meaning you can play all year round.
- 5 x astroturf floodlit.
- 8 x synthetic clay floodlit.
- 4 x hard floodlit.
- 10 x grass – open May to September.
- 1 x mini tennis court.
