East Glos shortlisted for two national LTA tennis awards

This week, East Glos has been announced as the south-west regional award winner for Club of the Year and Competition of the Year in the LTA annual tennis awards.

With the four other regional finalists, we will now go forward to the national awards alongside Tennis Scotland and Tennis Wales winners.

Each year, the LTA Tennis Awards highlight people’s incredible achievements and contributions across Britain. The national winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony on 19th May at 8pm.

Club manager Darren Morris said, “Both awards recognise the hard work and dedication by many people who devote their time to making East Glos a great club. That includes the fantastic team of staff, volunteers, committee members, coaches, tournament officials and members.

“It is a fantastic achievement to win one, never mind two awards, and I am proud that everyone has been recognised in this way. Fingers crossed for the national award.”

Before this announcement, last Friday, we were pleased to receive our county awards at the Gloucestershire Tennis awards at Lilleybrook Golf Club. The awards were presented by Andy Catchpole of Tennis-Point UK.
