Mark Toseland has been appointed as Squash Manager at East Glos Club. He is an England Squash level 3 coach and has been the Chairman of the Gloucestershire Squash Association for the last two years.
He will oversee all coaching at East Glos, focusing on junior development, while working with Fiona Geaves, Charlotte Elgood and Nathan Lake, who will continue to provide coaching services to members.
Mark has been coaching various sports over the last 16 years and now specialises in coaching and developing squash within Gloucestershire. He is currently studying a BSc (Hons) Sports Development and Coaching at the University of Gloucestershire and is a Lead Coach on their Ductor Scholarship programme and is looking to enroll onto the MSc Professional Practice in Sports Coaching once completing his undergraduate degree. He has a passion for athlete development, building structures and partnerships within the community and working alongside England Squash for juniors to progress up the talent pathway.
Mark replaces Sophie Lane who has been our Squash Manager for the past four years and has stepped down. Her efforts in developing junior squash at the club have been outstanding. Squash Chair Tony Briscombe says “We’d like to thank Sophie for all the time and effort she has put into East Glos, not just on court, but also all the hours spent organising and encouraging juniors to play. I am sure we’ll continue to see Sophie at the club and wish her well for the future.”
