Junior tennis player profile: Sammy Vrabtchev

Here’s the latest in our series of junior tennis player profiles.

Sammy Vrabtchev, 15, has an outstanding passion towards his tennis both as a player and also when he helps out with the younger kids on the coaching programme.

SammyHe is dedicated to his training and travels across Europe playing in competitions.

Sammy represents East Glos in Aegon Team Tennis for both adults and 18 & unders. He’s also part of the East Glos Men’s A team playing in the summer premier division.

Sammy won Gloucestershire Junior player of the Year 2017 at the GLTA awards and recently won the Gloucestershire County Championships 16 & under singles title. He has had some outstanding success in competition including winning the 18 & under Edgbaston Priory grade 3 event in August last year. He also recently won the East Glos Club Championships 18 & Under title.

He is a role model both on and off the court. He has worked hard on his concentration and positive mentality when playing, and the hard work is paying off. He teaches these positive values to the young mini red players that he helps on the East Glos Coaching programme every week and displays role model like behaviour in his squads.

East Glos Head of Performance Mark Lunn said “Sammy is an extremely talented junior and I’m confident that his best years are yet to come. With his hard work and dedication, the sky is the limit, and I’m sure we will be hearing a lot more from him over the next few years.”
